Drawing 1-2 will introduce the students to basic drawing techniques and media. The emphasis is on traditional approaches to line, form, texture, composition, perspective, and the elements and principles of design. A variety of subject matter will be covered including nature studies, perspective, landscape, still life, and portrait.
The following media will be introduced in Drawing 1: ink and graphite. The following media will be introduced in Drawing 2: colored pencil opaque and transparent watercolor and mixed media. Color theory will be studied in Drawing 2.
These courses are the foundation courses for the advanced visual arts classes. Fee: $20.00.

Drawing 3—4 strengthens previous understanding of design elements and principles through a series of work in various drawing media. Students are given the opportunity to finely tune their drawing skills by practicing not only technique but also observation of detail. This course develops a higher level of drawing ability and compositional awareness which becomes a foundation for advancing to specialized classes. Fee: $20.00.

Drawing 5—6 is an in-depth study of drawing techniques and media, with emphasis on creativity. Students will concentrate on improving drawing and shading skills and explore individual creative ideas for subject matter. Fee: $20.00.
