Students who take communications department classes experience "the real world"  through their work on the radio and television station or as part of one of Carmel High School's three award winning publications.  Introductory courses provide the basis for later experience writing for the newspaper, shooting photos for the yearbook, designing pages for the magazine, broadcasting a sports event or videotaping a show for Channel 21 or working at a commercial radio or television station as a part of a senior internship, among many other classes and activities. As of the 2004-2005 School Year, the Communications Department is now part of the Media Department.
