CHTV is the student operated cable TV station overseen by Mr. Hal Espey.

Every SRT, the students of Carmel High School watch  CHTV's morning announcements.  A lot more goes on though, than what you see on the television screen.  There are the two students who tell the announcements.  They must recite all the announcements and names while trying to look at the camera.  It's not as easy as it looks on TV.  There is actually only one cameraman for the morning show.  Two of the video cameras are set to view each of the anchors.  These single shots are what the students are most used to seeing.  The third camera is moved between the in-studio announcements and giving a shot of both anchors together.  Most of the CHTV team works behind the scenes in the control room, changing between the three cameras and other pre videotaped announcements.  They are the ones who make the morning announcements move smoothly.

CHTV covers many CHS athletic, performing arts, and special events. Students produce news, music video, talk and information shows seen by the Carmel community.  Each year CHTV produces a telethon for the Carmel Clay Educational Foundation to raise scholarship money for Carmel students. Students also participate in a statewide broadcast competition.
